Title: Manga vs Anime

Liminality - October 7, 2004 07:43 AM (GMT)
Opinions people, which one do you think is better? of course anime is animated so that gives it an advantage, but sometimes the manga is just simply better.

><... - October 7, 2004 07:47 AM (GMT)
i like anime better...mainly because i cant be bothered to read manga... :waah: but it's true...sometimes manga is just a tad better! XD

Cyril - October 7, 2004 08:00 AM (GMT)
Anime.
Only because it's animated. :P
That makes all the fighting scenes just...cooler. ^^'

dualist - October 7, 2004 08:48 PM (GMT)
I like manga more. You can do anything while reading a manga, and you can read them anywhere, you can't do that with anime. You have to sit still and watch it. Also, you read read manga as slowly as you want. When you watch anime, you will some action if you're distracted.

gokudanny89 - October 7, 2004 11:30 PM (GMT)
I think anime will always be better than manga well thats my opinion.

Liminality - October 8, 2004 07:30 AM (GMT)
does anyone know any manga that is better than their anime version?

LinkChaos543 - October 11, 2004 02:26 PM (GMT)
I personaly think that they are equal, the anime is much more colorful and the voice actors are great, but in manga the battle scenes are great, they donot have to be moving to be great battle scenes, and by reading manga you can actually understand where the person has been hit, rather than a quick clash of swords and then the person grabs at their wound...

Jezze - October 12, 2004 08:11 AM (GMT)
I think they are equal :good:

Videl - October 12, 2004 11:06 AM (GMT)
I prefer manga. When anime is based on manga, sometimes many things are changed - even the names of main characters, at least in my country. For example:
Goku -> Songo
Shenron -> God Dragon
Kami -> Almighty
Master Roshi -> Brilliant Turtle
...and much more...they're funny when I'm writing them now  ....but very stupid <_<

Mist Assassin - October 13, 2004 02:50 AM (GMT)
I like them both but I prefer Manga because in Anime there tend to be a lot of filler episodes.

0bliv!on - October 16, 2004 06:53 AM (GMT)
yeah... true, however, since i haf to read manga on my comp coz i d/l scantalated versions, anime is easier and less of a hassle, and overall, the respective quality of the manga and the anime of the same series depends on the the producers themselves, and don't hav much to do with the fact that its a manga or anime...

Liminality - October 16, 2004 07:08 AM (GMT)
<_< you just screwed up my poll..
but i guess you're right :P

Maxiemonster - October 17, 2004 02:11 PM (GMT)
It just depends on the writer of the manga or the producer of the anime.

I've read manga's that were really cool, but then the anime was really bad...
But I've also read manga's that were really bad, but then the anime was really cool...

So it just depends on who made it.

zerog - October 20, 2004 06:35 PM (GMT)
It depends on hat you read or watch
for intance vampire hunter d is good in anime form
but naruto is funny in anime and manga form
initial d is better on dvd than in the bools
evangelion love the book and the anime
so yeah some things are better than others while other things are equal...

Vegerunks.exe - October 20, 2004 07:23 PM (GMT)
Definitely anime.

Sometimes manga is better, but most of the time, animations > pictures

zerog - October 21, 2004 07:37 AM (GMT)
of course anime rules far better than manga but manga is too many still frames that needs to be moved upon with a computer thus called anime manga with life!
I love anime and mangas and also anything japan I Love even the girl in my sig...
Ayumi hamasaki! I love her!

philipjk824 - October 25, 2004 11:45 PM (GMT)
for me it's manga it's fun to read

NightShadow - November 4, 2004 09:33 AM (GMT)
this aint going to go anywhere in terms of who is right and wrong...lol...cause it what you prefer...personally...I love manga...because the characters are what I want them to be, that the anime sometimes fails to depict. like pretend I had an image of the ever sexy kakashi as a powerful yet reminicent character who delves on the past, but in the anime they made him like comedy king, except the wave country episodes...those were great!!!...but the anime did show sasuke in a very cool way. yeh and probably the fight scenes in anime are probbably better than the manga, it really depends...if you and the animators had a creativity battle....who would win....if you do...chances are you like manga...haha

Fayt - November 5, 2004 08:27 PM (GMT)
well...i think Love Hina is better as a manga, and Mahou Sensei Negima also...and Rave Master, and Cardcaptor Sakura, and Inuyasha, and Ranma 1/2, and Megaman NT Warrior, and .hack//legend of the twilight(.hack//dusk is the anime name), ect...i prefer manga, because it includes more information sometimes, includes things that fit into the storyline good, but are still taken off in the anime...

mel-mel - November 5, 2004 08:44 PM (GMT)
I would have to go with manga more. Sure anime is great. We love to see the character talk and be put into colour, but as far as story for me I like the manga lots better. Same as Fayt said, provides more info. Not to mention with manga some series in the manga can go farther than the anime series. To take a few...Fruits Basket, GTO, Boys Be, AND (here's my favorite) Love Hina. Storylines are never changed but it just seems that the manga goes farther the intented story in the anime series.

MastrJ - November 5, 2004 09:37 PM (GMT)
Manga all the way!!!!

Fayt - November 5, 2004 09:59 PM (GMT)
yeah, it startles me why they make such HUGE differences. I mean, i understand the perverted stuff, and them removing the gay scenes from Cardcaptor Sakura, but really...there shouldn't be any other good enough reason for them to change more things.

Liminality - November 6, 2004 12:57 AM (GMT)
wow, manga and anime are equal now.. i thought anime would be way ahead.. XP

MastrJ - November 6, 2004 01:42 AM (GMT)
Who's going to break the tie. Because I'm the one who tied the series for now... ;)

0bliv!on - November 6, 2004 04:02 AM (GMT)
hahaha... manga is ahead...

i only started reading manga a few weeks ago, and yeah... i lyk it, its more convenient, and also is more informative, and less time consuming..

and of course, da fact that bleach is up to only ep5 in anime and past chapter 145 in da manga has little to do wif this... :P

Fayt - November 6, 2004 02:40 PM (GMT)
yes! Manga prevails! :good:

mel-mel - November 6, 2004 03:27 PM (GMT)
Yes! And here's another point.

Manga is much easier to licensed that anime! It's paper. Which is better for others who love manga more. :P

Raven the Mangaka - May 31, 2005 04:37 PM (GMT)
Manga is way better. You loose a lot of details in anime. You don't enjoy it a much. A manga you can review it anytime you want, you can see to the finest detail in the scene. As a Mangaka in training, I just can't vote for Anime. My pasio is Manga, and I'll always defend it.

Beautiful~Disaster - June 16, 2005 01:39 AM (GMT)
Definitley manga for me. Manga always seems to go into so much more depth, and it can show things they would never show on TV in America.

Fayt - August 1, 2005 02:19 PM (GMT)
Manga wins! =D

qiangy-chan - August 1, 2005 07:19 PM (GMT)
awwww

i like anime better
the orginal anime not dubbed

Hurakun - August 1, 2005 07:43 PM (GMT)
I think Manga is Better..Some Anime's Even Ruin the manga version

Liminality - August 3, 2005 03:48 AM (GMT)
yeah i agree
but some anime is still as good as the manga
like bleach :D

Jarrid - August 3, 2005 08:04 AM (GMT)
But Dnangelll

Great Manga Horrible Anime

James Oakley - August 3, 2005 01:21 PM (GMT)
I'll have to say anime, since we dont have manga, well not as i know as :lol':

Fayt - August 3, 2005 01:47 PM (GMT)
The DN Angel anime isn't that horrible...

.Fossil. - August 13, 2005 01:42 AM (GMT)
Well, most anime has terrble voice acting so I go with Manga since you don't hear voices.

Jounin Elite - December 30, 2005 05:16 PM (GMT)
it depends. with my two favorite anime/mangas, i think the manga is better.

-JE-

Zanoaz - February 8, 2006 10:43 AM (GMT)
Manga, I find it better and original and it never gets canceled :hehe: (Corny :waah: ).

Astray - February 9, 2006 04:06 AM (GMT)
I have tried to read manga but the whole reading backwards thing keeps messing me up. From what I have heard and read in magazines, manga does give a more detailed desription of a series. Would be nice if the companies tried to do a anime straight from manga word for word so to speak.
