Pure Un-adultrated murdering...i saw this quite a long time ago.. not For the Faint hearted... i think i should of been a Quentin Tarantino Film.. It Feels like a Kill Bill but With More than one Person Doing the Killing

I saw this movie a while back, infact my character in the RP is slightly based on the madman in there that had the most kills, Kazuo Kiriyama. (he's the guy who joined for "fun") I thought it was pretty good. There's a sequel to it as well. Also there was a topic on this in the Spoiler section here at the site.

Also many major movie groups wanted the rights to this movie, but due to Columbine, they were never given. Because it's not allowed to be made in America. You can import maybe, but they won't allow it to be made here. Something like that anyway.

Actually Quentin Tarantino's character for Kill Bill Vol. 1, Gogo Yurabi, was played by Chiaki Kuriyama who also had the role of Tokako in Battle Royale. Gogo's sister, Yuki, was going to be played by Kou Shibasaki (Mitsuko in Battle Royale). Since she turned down the offer, the character of Yuki was cut from the movie. Also, Chiaki's two characters from both movies share a similar attack where she stabs a man in that special area. ^^' There could be some connection there.

Ok, to the subject, I've read the novel by Koushun Takami, seen both movies (although the second wasn't as good of course), as well as started on the manga. I'm going to have to agree with Sohryu. It's a very gory film. Definitely not for the kids. Great for adolescent teens though.

MEH.
Let me tell you guys how it is in order.

The Novel > The First Movie > The Manga > The Second Movie

The novel, the original novel, is a masterpiece. The best Battle Royale.
The 1st film, is a little cheesey, but it's good.
The manga is over the top and cheesey, but it's still good.
The second movie is just a retarded joke that has no base on the original storyline.

If you haven't, buy Battle Royale the novel now. Great book. :)
