Title: Looking for a new anime to watch

NaotaInko - July 15, 2006 01:40 AM (GMT)
Any suggestions? Prefreabbly something that hasn't been aired in America. I've found I like those hidden ones that I havn't heard of to be some of the best. (Like Cromartie High, Azumangadaioh, Kino's Journey, Elfen Lied etc. etc. etc. etc.) So, any suggestions?

Sathe - July 15, 2006 01:45 AM (GMT)
No. The only things I can suggest at this point are ones that are popular in America and shojo, which you will not like because you are male.

Thome - July 15, 2006 01:47 AM (GMT)
I know PLENTY.
but I'm good.
You probably wouldn't share my taste in anime.

NaotaInko - July 15, 2006 01:50 AM (GMT)
Ain't that a little sexist? Course you are right. Maybe some of our members in China will know of one. . .Thome, you like NGE, correct? I like NGE, therefore I must have some of the same tastes Mr. Stick in the mud

blue_impulse - July 15, 2006 06:27 AM (GMT)
Theres PeaceMaker, FMA and theres also Eureka seven to watch.

Kenshin_Himura - July 15, 2006 11:04 AM (GMT)
Maybe give a shot Rurouni Kenshin (samurai X) Its a really good anime. Lots of action also including some comedy. Good one 2 watch :good: :good:

NaotaInko - July 15, 2006 08:48 PM (GMT)
Hmm, I'll have to look up Peacemaker, and I've been watching Eureka already. I saw Rurouni Kenshin a long time ago, when it was on in America, and FMA I've seen countless times on adult_swim. And my friend has a bunch of the gundam stuff. Well, thanks for the help guys, I'm pretty sure I know what I'm going to watch.

Are DB and DBZ aired in America? I used to watch those all the time but I guess they got old and just stopped. I don't really like DBGT though. It confuses me. :lalala:

NaotaInko - July 16, 2006 01:51 AM (GMT)
DBZ? That and all of it's variants are in the 10 worst animes of all time. I hate em', the show lacks any creative story, the comedy isn't funny, there is really no moral/lesson to be found in it, and the fighting grows dull right away. In short, DBZ sucks.

Xiami - July 16, 2006 05:44 AM (GMT)
Well, that's your opinion. I still like it though.

Shia - July 16, 2006 06:38 PM (GMT)
Stand Alone Complex without a doubt. It's been out for a long while, but if you haven't watched it, be sure to. And if not, be sure to see the first Ghost in the Shell movie.

blue_impulse - July 17, 2006 01:09 AM (GMT)
Ghost in the Shell movie is pretty cool but I have to say Stand Alone Complex 2d or in other words S.A.C 2d.

Someone who still likes DBZ! GASP!

You know what, I've heard of Ghost in the Shell, my friend from Georgia is obsessed with it, and it's on all the time here. I just never had the time to sit down and watch it! What's it about anyway?

crapshack - July 17, 2006 03:27 AM (GMT)
Have you watched Samaurai Champloo? It's an amazing anime. GetBackers is good too.

lKaYoSl - July 17, 2006 03:31 AM (GMT)
champloo and GITS are amazing im an idiot to not think of them lol
dbz does not suck, it was a revolutionary anime at the time of the realese its also a foundation for many new animes db and dbz are important animes
there are better now but for the time they came out they were great

NaotaInko - July 17, 2006 03:32 AM (GMT)
Yeah I saw Samaurai Champloo, I thought it was only decent (a 7 out of 10 to me). But what's GetBackers? I'd have to disagree with you about DBZ. Yes while the story is original, it gets overly used and quite annoying. The fighting while "original" was once again over used and got annoying. DBZ was never really about a good story, humor, or anything, it was basically just watching the same people fight over and over, frankly I found it to be rather annoying. It was an old fad, that got lucky, that is all.

Currently three that I'm thinking on:

Peacemaker

Ghost in the Shell (It's on tv, just never watched it and have no idea what it's about)

Getbackers

Sohryu - July 17, 2006 03:42 AM (GMT)
I like Getbackers, Samurai Champloo, Ehh,,meh, but I liked Shakaugan No SHANA, it hasent Been copywrited yet (i don't think it has at Least)

Prince of Tennis is a Good show

NaotaInko - July 17, 2006 05:05 AM (GMT)
Shakaugan No SHANA? What's that about?

Mariko the Huggable - August 11, 2006 11:05 AM (GMT)
U could watch Puni Puni Poemy. It's like completely random and funny and is from the same creators of Excel Saga.
Might be worth u considering It's very funny and you'll love the wacky characters.

AliceMargatroid - August 13, 2006 12:01 AM (GMT)
Maybe Jigoku Shoujo(Hell Girl)? But still, I heard the episodes are not really well done. I'm only watching the 4th episode currently.

blue_impulse - August 13, 2006 12:27 AM (GMT)
What about Love Hina its a hell funny Anime to watch.

It's actually a 2-episode long Excel Saga Spinoff anime.
If you haven't seen Excel Saga you won't understand some of the stuff there. :P
Not that you really NEED to understand them though. o_o

Anyways... I'd suggest Galaxy Angel, Excel Saga, and Puni Puni Poemi as well. :P
