The best way to watch an anime is in Japanese or Japanese with subs.
People wouldn't understand the Anime if its in English or they are just too lazy to read the subs.

Japanese with subtitles for a number of reasons. 1. To get closer to actually getting the original dialogue. 2. So that (for the most part) I won't have to listen to horrible voice acting. And finally 3. So I don't have to deal with a lot of "What's up, my homie dogs?" or "You go girlfriend!"s. *shudders* Man, I hate that. I've also been trying to learn Japanese so I don't have to use subtitles anymore. ^^;

It depends on the anime, some sound better in English.

Like Cromartie High School, I can't stand the Japanese VA's for that, so I have to watch it in English. (besides the English for CHS kicks ass, it's so perfectly done) The reverse goes for Ranma 1/2, the English is so horrible for that, so I watch it Japanese with subs. (not for long though, learning Japanese, or starting to)

And others it doesn't matter. I'll watch it both ways. Like with NGE, Elfen Lied, FLCL, Kino's Journey, among many others

Frankly I don't care which way it is, as long as it sounds good and the translations/story/whatever is good enough.

Note: Not all English VA's are horrible, most are done pretty decently, and the translations are good as well. An example of a well known VA is Steve Blum, who has done many voices, probably most famous for doing Spike in Cowboy Bebop though.

well i like some emglish duds like inu yasha and chobits but i do like subs like Naruto since the Dub for it is soooo bad so it depends on the anime really for me. XP

Well, I'm a girl and you're not so obviously you've never seen the Sailor Moon dub. XP The worst dub ever next to the few episodes I saw of Duel Masters when it came out. Though that seemed to have been a bad show in it's original form, the english version was even worse. Also, anything that is adapted for children will try to include rap slag. I watched Digimon for example for a number of years and the dubs were pretty bad for that too.
Like I said, for most english versions the VAs are bad. I didn't say all. For example I love the guy that plays Spike's voice. I'm also a very big fan of Chuck Huber who did Hiei and Juunanagou. As well, as that David guy who does Sesshomaru's english voice. It all depends on how it's done it's just that I lean more towards the Japanese version, mainly for the fact that it's the original version, whether the VAs were better in it or not. I just like to watch the original version.
And Geneon is excellent at translating the dialogue and keeping it intact. I don't mind watching Geneon in English. There's alot of really good English dubs. Not saying there isn't. I just perfer the original version, that's all. ^^; It's really just a personal preference. I wasn't meaning to insinuate that all English dubs were horrible and American VAs couldn't act worth a crap. I just wrote that real quick before I went out the door so I didn't have time to explain myself fully.

I never like animes that have cards in it like Duel Masters and Yu-Gi-OH, but Card Captors Sakura was the best and I still watch the anime.

Well, the crappy ones that are meant for kids can go without saying, those don't care about the anime, all they care about is using it for marketing purposes, so they ruin it.

Hmm, not really. From what I see most of the good english dubs stick to the original it's the crappy kids animes that always screw up in translation. Sure every once in a while a good dub makes a mistake or two, but it isn't as often as you're implying. I guess Tom Hanks can agree with you though, if that counts for something.

Raw. Subtitles are tedious. English is bullshit.

English dub is much better. Japanese dosn't suit the characters at all, and I like the dubbed voices heaps as well there well done I think.
