Well, I just whipped this up in order to show off my writing styles, but I look forword to making some great stories for you all in the future.
But for now take a gander at this at tell me what you think. (I realize it's a cliche topic.)

This is a link to the story avalible for download in Microsoft word.
If you see some changes just make the changes right on the microsopht word document and then copy and past them into this thread.
I can't wait to hear some feed-back for it.

Neat. I like the philosophical stuff. Philosophy is the best.

Can't really find much wrong with it, except that there's no hyphen in 'unnatural.' Lookin' forward to more.

Thome - April 8, 2006 04:02 AM (GMT)
crap, there is really no hyphen in unnatural?
GOOGLE HAS FAILED ME!
And on a different note:

Is there any other feed-back?
I mean, come on, there must be something....please.

I have a pointless yet relavent question. Do you usually write science fiction-esque stuff like that? It's cool, ya know. The hypothetical future and whatnot.

I like reading historical and fantastical stuff the most, but I usually end up writing in a more...realistic setting. I've been thinking about science fiction, though. Sounds like fun. None of that yucky outer space stuff, though.

I just finnished a novle about a setting similar to the 1950's american during the end of the Industrial revelution, but then I spun it off in a totally sci-fi way.
I think it turned out great, but It still needs much work before I present it to anyone. When i'm done you might be interrested.

I'd love to read this, but for some reason, it says it no longer has it? Any chance you could upload again?

Thome - April 28, 2006 11:35 PM (GMT)
Nope.
I actually don't have it anymore.
But ask Sathe, she might still have it.

Sathe - April 28, 2006 11:48 PM (GMT)
Can I just post the text of it instead of whatever blah blah blah

Thome - April 29, 2006 12:31 AM (GMT)
Well that didn't work.
Just re-host it if you would.

PARALLELAPHY
By the_me

Black rain came down hard from the exhaust of ships leaving the earth’s atmosphere. The world was black with a dark frost that seemed never ending. A small boy sat with his grandfather witnessing the destruction of the one holy domain: Earth. Death was impending and time was short. The boy had tears in his eyes from the shock of such a painful sight. The tears dripped noiselessly onto the already soaked ground.
“Why does this even happen?” Asked the boy.
“Do you mean ‘Why do wars happen’?” Asked the old man ignoring the rhetorical aspect of the question.
“Of course, why do un-natural things like death and war have to happen?”
“Un-natural? Why I’ll tell you that it would be un-natural for someone not to die. Why do you think hatred and wars are un-natural? When what is truly un-natural is never raising one’s hand in anger. Anger is used to make things right and to set things in order, however diluted and mutilated the emotion is, it is always natural. And why would it be un-natural to die? If people didn’t die there would be no more born into this world. Death is the equivalent to rebirth. The destruction of this wonderful world is completely natural. Humans hating each other are completely natural. The death that we’ll be facing at any moment is completely natural. What is un-natural is peace.”
“But I thought peace was a good thing!”
“I never said it wasn’t, I simply stated that it was un-natural.”
The boy curled up in a ball on the ground weeping for his loss and clearly disturbed by the information from his grandfather.
“But just because it isn’t natural doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be.”
The boy looked up, as if struck by hope by the simple statement that had reached his ears. But it was too late for hope. The bombs were coming their way. There was no escape. Death was imminent for the both of them. But just as the bombs were dropped a peace order came across the sky. The war was over and the loser was found. One side had conceded and peace was now in effect. But the bombs were dropped and there was no way to call them back.
The old man smiled.
“Be glad that we are the first to die in this newly found peace. Because that means we will be the first to add to rebirth, the rebirth of a world in an un-natural state. And let it stay un-natural as long as time passes by.”

I also re-hosted it if anyone wants to download it, but keep in mind that every time I host it the longest it will stay for is a week.

But this is just a short, sweet, to the point expressionistic story. Far from the greatness of some of my other work.
