Okey Dokey, so upon having to satisfy my curiousity one day.. I stumbled upon, what else but a smoke bomb recipe. Now i have my own idea to customize it a bit, im just not sure how. Anyone who is smart with alchemic reactions and crap wome help would be appreciated.

Now the recipe i found, involes heating a 3:2 ratio of potassium nitrate to sugar. It will then become caramelized(sorta) and like peanut butter, and then you stick a fuse in it. Now, some things i wanna do to this.

1) Remove the use for melting it down, and use the fine grain powders as a combustable substance for a smoke bomb. So basically, we take out the need of a fuse. I want this shit to blow up when i throw it.

2) Of course, i need a shell, now i thought about slicing a ping-pong ball in half and putting the powder in there with a weak glue, so when i throw on the ground it can burst upon impact.

3)The problem with the above? I have no idea how to lite the grains in there. Im think of some kinda shit that can erupt into flames for a second on impact with a solid object. Help?

4) Well, Potassium nitrate.. A common material that can be bought with a childs allowance, but not with a child. I assume i wont have access to this until i am able to sneak into my high school chemistry lab. Need some help to know where to find this stuff.

Lets see now if i can work out all those kinks with my smoke-bomb, it would be awesome. Anyone who has higher knowledge than me.. please help? I know a 13 year old shouldnt screw around with explosives.. But, i have to do this =D.

so yeah

well if you don't go through the caramelization point then you won't get the chemical reaction needed for it to produce smoke, because the powder itself isn't combustable...you either need to find directions on how to make one like the one you want to make because you can't just delete a step...it won't work the same...if it works at all...or just do that step and add a fuse...believe me...it probably woudln't be that hard to find directions on how to make one where you don't need a fuse...

Eh it is pretty hard, but ye ai resaerched but if the powders are finely grained than they can indeed produce smoke with contact on fire, not as much but u can.
