Does anybody like them? I only know two people from my school who like them, and everybody just slates them for Geddy's high-pitched "ramblings". But look beyond Geddy's voice [which, by the way had matured so much by the time vapor trails was released] and you'll find that they make very good music, which is not the individual style of most bands where everybody has a song to show off their ability on [usually just the lead guitarist:p] but more of a synchronised masterpiece. Everything fits perfectly, and although most people don't like it, I have to wonder why? Because they're not mainstream? Because they don't belong to any groups that ironically make their living by claiming to be opposed to the mainstream? They have a small but loyal fan base because of the way they have evolved over the last 3 or 4 decades. Yet, what stands out the most for me is the incredible musicianship -- Geddy has to be one of the best bassists out there, Alex Lifeson is a brilliant guitarist, and do I even need to say anything about Neil Peart? The best drummer in the world, IMO, just blows you away.
So, any thoughts? Any other fans? Anybody not know who I'm talking about? lol
Not heard of 'em. I'll be checkin' that out.
