Internet Relationships
Well i guess in a way there good if your never going to meet then it just goes hell freaky lol. I know some people have done it and well lol i just lol once i found out who the other person was.
Liminality - August 31, 2005 11:50 AM (GMT)
in a way, its good.. coz its based on personality rather than looks. but its easy to get tricked, to get mislead.. you dont know if the other person is genuine or whatever.

I'm so into it sometimes o_O

I guess it depends. Does a long distance relationship count? Cause I'm in one. The only way I can keep contact is through internet, phone, audio and webcam. The distance is really far. And it kinda makes it worse since I've already met this person.
But if you really think you can handle an internet relationship, then I suppose. Depends on how well you really know them I guess.
Slade - September 1, 2005 04:47 PM (GMT)
The thing about them is trust, 80% has to be, you have nothing else, but yeah their ok if you can grow to love like that, but you get hurt easily.
Sathe - September 2, 2005 01:13 AM (GMT)
It's easy to be decieved. You can show one face to one person, and a completely different face to someone else. It's all about trust, as everyone's said... But no matter how much you trust the other person, they can always lie, and you might never know.
It's too much of a hassle for me. I'm sick of it. Too much drama.

The best internet ralationship i've seen that works is urameshi and sherry.

Yeah, only thing is all you can really do is talk to each other...
dualist - September 16, 2005 02:15 PM (GMT)
Depends what kind of relationship you're talking about. If it's a love relationship, then it's gotta be damn hard. I wouldn't want to get involved in one, anyway.
Meeting people online just to be friends though, is totally awesome. I mean, if it wasn't for the Internet how could you become friends with someone from the other side of the planet?
The strongest relationship I've got over the Internet is with a girl from Poland. I never thought I would meet someone as awesome as her on the Internet. We know we're gonna meet someday, it's only a matter of time. Our friendship is too strong for us to not meet =)
You know her, she's an admin on this site. And despite what several people seem to think, no we're not in love with each other. At least not on my side =P
Then there's Blind-. I'm gonna meet that dude someday too for sure. Those of you who visit DGEmu frequently know who he is, and know how we behave when we're posting together =P
And then there's good ol' Clud. Although we don't talk as much as we used to. The guy's got a job now, yay! So he's busier than he used to be. But yeah, we'll also meet eventually.
So all in all, online relationships are a good thing. They have to be. Unless you get fooled by a serial killer or something. Then I guess it's a bit less awesome.

Liminality - September 23, 2005 07:37 AM (GMT)
hello barbie!! XD
yeah internet relationships where its not love are good most of the time, but love.. thats a different story.
Yuffie - September 23, 2005 03:32 PM (GMT)
They're okay...never been in one. But it's pretty cool. It is kinda hard aswell...you don't know if your 'boyfriend' is not a serial killer/rapist. And as for your 'girlfriend'...how do you know she's a girl? O____O; She could be a perverted 60 year old guy! Dx;
Stay safe. o_o; Don't get involved unless you really really know the person.
Kim - September 23, 2005 05:39 PM (GMT)
I'm ok with them had my fair share.
For 'love' the bond between the two people have to be very stronge and actually trust eachother not to hurt the other.
So yeah that's my view. Not much but i'm happy being single <3
Garou-Ken - October 2, 2005 06:52 AM (GMT)
I dont beleive in online relationships.
You can fall in love with someone on the net... But thats it. Theres more to love than just feeling it. The experience is diffrent, perhaps if your too shy in reality, or if you have a low self-esteem, or if you simply want to hide the person that you are.
Either way, there is no way a person such as I could ever go through with it. If something bad happened to the person you fell in love with, how will you be there for them? Will you ever hold that person close to you?
You think typing *Kiss* and *Hug* is the same thing as the real thing? The situation is hopeless. Unless the two of you make an agreement to see each other in real life and/or move in with each other. Online Relationships are pointless.
But I guess they aren't that pointless if they simply make you feel "wanted". But how long do you think thats going to go?
Oh well, I could never understand how people think. I dont have anything against it. I just cant comprehend it. It seems irrational to me.
Liminality - October 2, 2005 06:55 AM (GMT)
yeah purely internet relationships dont really do anything.. 'internet' relationships. its only gonna be over the net. but if you actually meet in real life and stuff, thats good. but internet relationships, i dont believe in them.
