Ok Shindo meant team up as in join up... meet in the rp. it's actually my fault, i wanted to start somewhere else so i chose the protected part of tokyo, but i couldnt think of a way to get out so used some kind of explosion as an excuse.
Then i couldnt explain what the explosion was.. so me, oblivion and shindo talked on msn to try to figure out a plan. thats all =) we are not trying to make the rp go our way.. this is your rp after all. and this is a really good rp, that's why i joined. if it wasnt then oblivion wouldnt have joined either, he's been away from this forum more than half a year.

What I was planning was that this shows how everyones lives can change and how different people dealt with it. But there wouldnt be much of a story without them meeting up and having some goal to complete.

I have thought It over and I was considering that they all meet somehow and then try to escape Tokyo before America nukes the place. Since America has sepparated itself from everyone it would require us heading to someplace else, meaning im going to have to do some research, right now lets all focus on meeting up.

Okay, I havent been on the past 2 days becasue of school but look, feel free to post, but dont go ot far. If things with school and football practice get so bad i can never come on, ill hand over the RP to someone else.

anywayz, if u were too lazy to read da HUUUUGE convo hist. dat lim posted up... wots happening is:

a bunch of ppl* broke into the compound** and blew up something***. Lim uses this opportunity to get out of there, while it also attracts the attention of me and shindo, separately of cos. I bump into lim as he's coming out, and then shindo runs past us. As gallant and chivalrous young men, we can't stand the thought of a lady (?!!) in danger, and so we follow her back into the mayhem to 1. Bring her out if we can, or 2. protect her and make sure she doesn't get too riddled with bullet holes.

*We're thinking of a group of 'anti-elitist' people, who at the moment AREN'T evil, but want to level the playing field. Of course, depending on what the story needs, we can make them as evil as needed, or alternatively, as angelic/brave/etc etc as needed.

**the 'compound' is the "exclusive district" which i (yes... all my fault X__X) inadvertantly coined the name for. It can be renamed to anything else which makes sense of course for reasons of expediency, aesthetics or a whim.

*** the idea (or rather... my idea =P) at the moment is that the 'anti-elitists'**** managed to sneak in amidst a food or water delivery (the rich still need to eat and drink...) and was able to sabotage a diesel electric generator, OR plant a bomb of some kind.

****yeh... u can change the name of this group too... coz... well.. they needed a label other than 'those ppl' =P

ON WITH THE STORY.

enter shindo's char. who is right now trying to find lim's father, who is actually a mafia? boss, or some other high level criminal figure, and who's been boasting of a 'cure' for the epidemic. Of course, no such thing exists, and so shindo's char is realli on a wild goose chase, with lim and me tagging along.

That's all we're up to so far, so yes... either giv us the green light to go ahead wif it.. or giv us some other objective, and me, shindo and lim will find some way to work it into our current predicament... as smoothly as humanly possible.

yes, i forgot to take into account ur "escape from Tokyo" plot while rambling on above... =P

firstly, there are a few... inconsistencies with the plot so far, i'm not trying to be picky, but if they can be ironed out, then it'll make for a better rp.

1. WHY is the US gonna nuke Tokyo? (and on a unrelated note, why a nuke? napalm or a plasma based explosive would be much more efficient, not to mention less environmentally damaging and with less long term problems)... back to the point however, I'm assuming that only? Tokyo has been hit by the epidemic, which means that although Japan would be in turmoil, the government would most likely have relocated, or reformed if the old government was wiped out. With this being the case, and with the fact the Japan is the only country to EVER have been nuked, I don't think that it would welcome being the only country to have been nuked... TWICE.

Even were that not the case, the Japanese government would be the one to bomb Tokyo if it came to that, however, Tokyo, as the now 'ex'-capital of our Japan, would still mean a damned lot of infrastructure and capital, and a... less costly method of decontamination would be logically more desirable, such as neutron bombs, caustic spraying of the whole city, etc etc.

2. IF Tokyo was to be nuked, wouldn't the rich bastards now staying in their snug little fenced off section of the city have known? Considering that it was their influence, money and power which gained them that area in the first place, it would be hard to explain how they could be ignorant of such a major move by the US, while ordinary people like us (you, shindo, lim and me) would know enough to want to leave.


I'll edit this post after i've gone back and reread ur intro, but in the meantime, solve these plz =D ... and dun hesitate to ask for help. I've got a few ideas, but it IS ur rp, and i'd hate to hijack it =P.

There are too many cities in Japan for Jaqoar to have reached them and spread the epidemic to all of them before the first cities to have been infected started having its population dropping dead. Any mayor in the circumstances would have quarantined his city at the first signs of such a pandemic.

And since the disease IS very symptomatic and has virtually no incubation period, quarantine would have been almost 100% effective against it. Also, the fact that the disease has so far been only transmissible through physical contact (and therefore NOT airborne) makes avoiding the disease easier than avoiding the flu. Police or Army personnel in riot gear would be impervious to the disease or to anyone infected.

What that means i'll leave to later.

The US might be bloodthirsty bastards, but even they wouldn't dream of violating diplomatic immunity to murder foreign ministers, OR attack an ALLIED country with as little provocation as a disease outbreak.

Even if they would dare, bombing Tokyo and shooting down skyscrapers is nothing short of, or more than, wanton and gratuitous violence. Even the citizens of the US, no matter how susceptible to propaganda they are, would not condone such actions. The contemporary administration would be blind to see their actions as anything but political suicide.

Now, with that being said, there is no reason at all for the US to cut itself off from the world when the disease is currently restricted to the Japanese islands. The Seventh Fleet is more than enough to quarantine the entire nation of Japan, and considering that the air craft carriers around which the fleet is based are nuclear powered, the quarantine would be able to last, for all practical purposes, indefinitely. That would have been the logical step, after all, you quarantine the sick, not the healthy.

NOTE: You didn't make this clear, so i'm assuming that the disease is at the moment restricted to the Japanese islands, and hasn't yet spread to the rest of the world. This is also implicit in the fact that the US is going to nuke only Japan, and not half the world (which, although being technologically feasible, would definitly NOT be sustainable). Of course, I'm also assuming that the US is NOT going to nuke half the world because as we're now trying to escape Tokyo because it is about to be vaporised, there is obviously somewhere which is NOT about to be vaporised which we are going to escape to.

OK. Firstly, mentalbreak, you based your rp in the REAL WORLD, which places a LOT more conditions on your rp than would otherwise apply. Because of this, i tried to point these out so that in the end, events which have occurred seem realistic and plausible, *given the setting of the rp*. That is important, because otherwise the setting would have little relevance.

I left all my arguments open to rebuttal or to counter-arguments, and they weren't forthcoming. Whether that was because you were suspended (or not according to lim) or what else, that was no reason for the rp to 'die'. Ergo, i didn't kill your rp.

If you would like to correct any of my arguments, give reasons for or explain any inconsistencies (as perceived by me), you're welcome to do so, and i will do all in my power to revive your rp. If not...

And the planning topic turned into an argument topic :hehe:
