In my opinion, GreenDay is the best rock band.....and thier song "Holiday" rulz... what do you guys think? :cow:

green day is one of my favorite bands :) but i havnt heard Holiday though.. i'll go find it or something :P

Anyway. I love Green Day because they have such a distinctive sound. Notice that I did not say unique. I'm well aware that they are not the "best band evar" and nor are they the only ones like them. But they are distinctive. I can easily tell what's Green Day and what isn't. Billie Joe has a wonderful voice--I love it. Well, when he's singing, that is. :P Their songs are neither depressing nor on speed. They don't drag you down, and they're not just a flock prepubescent boys screaming their lungs out about a hot chick. They sing about real issues as well about completely pointless things--there's variety. But the music is my favorite. Not the singing, not the lyrics, not the look. They have a good rhythm and a good sound. They work. That's why they're so popular.

Favorite song is probably... Minority..or....Brain Stew...

Green Day is a pretty decent band and there shouldn't be any reason why you should dislike them completely. There has to be some type of song that you like by them?

Oftentimes it seems like people dislike things like this just on principle. They're concerned more about the outward image that is presented by the fans of whatever it is, rather than the value that it has to them as an individual.

Don't ask me why, I just can't stand them.

One of the most overrated bands ever! I hate these guys, they present almost absoulty no music talent with almost all their songs sounding the same, no originality what soever! I only like one song from Green Day, that's it, and no it's not American Idiot, i hate that song so much!

I think that Green Day, like any other band, has positive and negative things within the band and their music. One song that I've heard over and over again, and quite sick of, is "American Idiot." But there are other songs that I fell are better than American Idiot. One song I've had grow on me lately is "Brain Stew." I was listening to this song a lot on Napsterlinks, and it now a favorite song of mine. What do you guys think of this track?

Ugh. The one thing that bothers me about the "anti-green day" movement that seems to have been picking up momentum lately is that people get too caught up on the idea that they can't like it because it's so popular and overplayed. Just take the goddamn music for what it is!

And when you do, then you can say that you actually don't like the music. Not that they're overrated or overplayed or overdone. That doesn't change the music at all.

I'm not someone caught up on the idea that I can't like it because it's popular, people always get me wrong on that. I hate a lot of popular things because I'll actully try to listen to them/play them, whatever, and I find to hate it because it's medicore or poor. I don't follow suit into the fact that I have to like something because everyone else does or the media tells me that it's good, so therefore it is. There have been things I like though even though it is popular, one of those things is the band Gorillaz. Why? Because they actually presented musical talent, espically with their first CD, the self titled, Gorillaz. Great cd, one of my favorites, then their second cd, Demon Days, while a great cd, I still like the original better. And there's many more things I like that are popular, but I always end up in arguments about FF7, or Nirvana, or Green Day, or whatever, you get my point.

Most of the time the media does this, I usually hate stuff that the media puts forth. Green Day being one of them. As I said before I do own one Green Day CD, and out of all the songs on it, they have only one song I like, Brain Stew. I've heard many of their other songs, pre-media, and I just find them as an average band. They're nothing great, and no where near best, with only one or two actual great songs.

green day has some pretty good music overall. my favorite album is still Dookie, that album was nuts.

oh ma gawd XD green day use to be my all time favourite band, but as months and years pass they got old... i'm just not into their style of music much anymore, maybe when they get a new album out i'll be crazy fo them again =)

but jeezus, there is nothing wrong with green day. i dont get why you guys hate them so much.

1) their songs don't all sound the same. srsly if you listen to all the songs from different albums they're all DIFFERENT. its jsut taht 2 songs from the same album may sound the same, but if you get holiday and warning its like.. BOOM huge difference.
2) ok they may be sell outs but thats just society and the music industry biting them in the ass
3) i forgot what other stuff people say sucks about green day... but yea

I dislike Greenday x.x;;; Well I actually like their old songs, but the new ones.....~o~ bleh.
